Making a black farmhouse or industrial-style island chandelier for a dollhouse can be a fun and creative project. Here's a simple step-by-step video guide from "The Square to Spare" to help you make one:
To improve, save money, and simplify this crafting process a little I suggest jumping some steps and choosing different materials for making an Island Chandelier dollhouse on Amazon:
Replace short matchstick with 12-inch long Craft Wood sticks.
Cut 4 long, 8 shorter, and 4 short pieces of Craft Wood sticks and 2 long pieces of Wooden Coffee Stirrers with a X-acto Knife depending on your scale
Download and follow the free schema for the 1:12 and 1:6 scales:
Make holes with a Micro hand drill following the schema.
Use Elmer’s Wood Glue to glue them together.
Paint all the wood with Metallic & Iridescent Liquitex Acrylic Paints.
Let's replace tiny bulbs and wires (from the video) with Daylight White already pre-wired (with resistor) 5MM LED light diodes.
Add industrial-look decor using Eyelets 5mm - loop it onto the LEDs.
Strip part of the insulation off the ends of wires (pull off the plastic).
Cut off the excess wire leaving about 3"(for 1:12) or 6" (for 1:6) of the left and right bulbs, the central one keeps long.
Thread the wires through a set of holes and use a bit of glue to hold them in place.
Glue this bar to the center of the top rectangle.
Fold the side wires toward the center and mark where they meet the center bulb wires.
Strip the plastic above that marking.
Connect all the wires of the same colors and get 2 bundles.
Mark the wire cathode "+" to avoid confusion when connecting the battery.
Paint over the wires.
Cut 2 pieces of 1" Heat Shrink Tubing wand and place on each bundle of wire.
If you need to extend the length of the wires, use Insulated Wire.
Attach them back to a safe compatible 9v battery holder with batteries.
For a cleaner look, use Drinking Straws, paint it the same color with nail polish, cut it off, loop that over the wires, and then glue it in place.
To install, simply drill a hole into the ceiling of any room, thread the wires through, and glue them in place.
Make a cover if needed.
Inspired by this one like a base, you can make dollhouse chandeliers in different styles - add strasses and paint in gold and it will become an elegant and sophisticated glamorous crystal chandelier.
